The Department of Composition and Literature helps students develop strong communication and analytical skills along with a better understanding of diverse cultures and their histories. The program can provide personal enrichment and a greater appreciation for literature, language, and writing, which can be applied in personal and professional settings.

What can I do with this degree?

Courses in English, literature, and writing can help you develop skills that can provide a foundation for a wide variety of careers. Some of those skills include critical thinking, problem-solving, literacy and research, and effective writing.
