RVC Professor Awarded Grant to Preserve Rockford Education Desegregation Stories

Dr. Mathew Oakes has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Grant for a two-year oral history, archival, and instructional project on the legal and community history of desegregation and education in Rockford. The $60,000 grant will fund his project, “Chronicles of Change: Archiving Stories of Desegregation in Rockford Public Schools, 1989-2002.”

RVC Lines Up Several Registration Events For Fall

With fall registration open, and the start of semester fast approaching, Rock Valley College has lined up several registration events to help incoming students get prepared for the fall semester.


Automotive Student Takes The Stage

When Rock Valley College automotive student Timmy Schneeberg was in high school, music and theatre provided a much-needed outlet and a sense of belonging. After high school, Timmy explored community theatre options around his hometown of West Allis, Wisconsin but was never able to find one that fit. So, when he got the offer to relocate to Rockford with his best friend, he jumped at the opportunity.


RVC Announces Spring 2022 Presidents And Deans Lists

The following students have earned recognition on Rock Valley College's Spring 2022 President's and Dean's Lists. Students must have taken at least 12 credit hours during the semester to qualify for the President's or Dean's lists.


Rock Valley College Wins Statewide Recognition

Representatives of Rock Valley College attended the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) Awards Banquet last Friday, June 10, in Chicago, Illinois.
