Inspiring & Empowering events at RVC for Women's History Month

Rock Valley College (RVC) is proud to announce its celebration of Women's History Month throughout March 2025. This year's theme is "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations."

Womens History

Women's History Month kicked off with a panel discussion on the definition of feminism and what it means for different careers.

RVC encourages its students, faculty, staff, and community to participate in a diverse range of events that honor women's achievements, promote equity, and inspire progress.

The month-long celebration kicked off on March 4 with a deep dive into the “F Word” – feminism. A faculty panel featuring Dr. Erin Fisher (psychology), Dr. Sarah Etlinger (English), Dr. Julie Hernandez (psychology), Dr. Beth Ingle (history), Doreen Pierce (sociology), and Lien Vu (anthropology) explored the definition of feminism, what it means in their respective fields, and what it means to them personally. Political science professor Dr. Maureen Lowry-Fritz moderated the panel.
